The Joys of Bookworming

Reading is amazing and full of joy (most of the time lolll), I think the bookworms of this world can all agree. But what about the other tiny joys that also come with being a bookworm? So here's is a list of some of my personal bookworming joys.

~*~ Putting reserves on your younger siblings library cards so you don’t go wildly into debt and owe a dragon’s ransom in library fee charges…

~*~ Reading said library reserves that you put on younger siblings library cards and walking the fine line of smug satisfaction that you evaded the ridiculous fees and also cold fear that the librarians know EXACTLY what you’re doing and will track you down next time you go to the library…whoever said that being a bookworm is boring is A LIAR.

~*~ Cracking open a brand new, new, new, NEW book and feeling the cover crease open never to lie exactly flat as it once did ever again…obviously if someone does this to my book, I hate them forever but when I do it, it makes the book MINE. #notweird

~*~ Stacking a huge pile of books on top of each other and they all fit together PERFECTLY in one huge stack! *heart eyes forever* I mean, it will definitely kill you when you take your eyes off it for more than ten seconds but in those few moments it is this towering pile of JOY.

~*~ Taking your book (reluctantly) outside and it not having a terrible accident, for example not falling in mud, getting eaten by a chicken, attacked by a vengeful tree or stolen by a jealous garden goblin.

~*~ Finding a book you love half price. Even better if it’s a hardcover. Who cares you have several copies of it already, this is a sign from the universe that it’s meant for you!

~*~ Meeting your reading goal early. If that’s your personal reading goal or a Goodreads reading goal, or WHATEVER, there is nothing like the satisfaction of succeeding that thing early...

~*~ Making a friend/family member/dog read your favourite book and then watching in satisfaction as they become consumed by pain and anguish AKA fall in love with the book as well.

~*~ Giving PERFECT book recommendations. This is more than, “this is my favourite book and so everyone must read it”, this is, “I know exactly what this person’s reading tastes are like and I also know the exact book that will melt their soul”...and yes of course sometimes you don’t get it quite right but when you DO...it is seriously the best feeling in the world!

~*~ Rereading a book that you love very, very much and and feeling like you’ve just run into an old friend’s arms.

~*~ Being SO excited to read a book that you have SO MUCH ENERGY. You can do anything! Everything is good! The world isn’t trash! You can get through anything because you know that book is waiting for you at the end of it!

~*~ Following on that energy high of looking forward to reading a book, can we talk about the high AFTER reading an AMAZING book?! Sleep, what’s that? I have enough energy to not sleep for a week! And who needs coffee?? I’m bouncing off the walls with a smile on my face just thinking about how good that book was!!

thinking I might start a small blog series of all the small joys of bookworming...I think I could just list things forever! would this be something you’d be interested in reading more of? also pretty please tell me some bookworming joys of your own! let's spread the bookish love!
